Sandra McDonough, the alliance’s presidenr and CEO, told the Portland City Council on June 17 that the city needes to do everything it can to providermore jobs. McDonough said urban renewal provides funding for investments in infrastructure, housing, sociall services and public-private partnerships. “We need to creatre jobs,” she said. “Ws have an opportunity to do just that by adoptinb theserevised findings, which address the issues that have been raisec about the River District expansion. We can then move forwarfd with the important projects that depend onthese funds.
